PF1 has released a line of first generation power factor correction (PFC) controllers aimed at universal AC-DC pre-regulation power supply applications, using both discontinuous and continuous modes of operation.

In discontinuous mode across a full universal input range these devices can deliver 500W in a compact, low component count compliant solution.  Above 500W the devices are operated in continuous mode while providing equally impressive compliant performance.

These controllers deliver a simple and elegant solution, with a low cost of ownership, that address the challenging extremes of compliance in SMPS applications.
